Northend started on the front foot and never looked back. Some great passing football, defending and finishing would result in an impressive win.

Crewe United 3 Northend United 5 Saturday 28th September 2024

Northend started on the front foot, with the impressive Dylan McGarry controlling midfield. It wasn’t long before the chances came with Alfie Gordon making the team tick in the final third. The team went 1-0 up after Eoghan Kelly fired home from close range. We were dominating and quick-fire goals from Finn Hudson and Odhran Hardy made it 3-0.

Just before half time, the impressive back 4 of McGarry Buick Kelly & Maguire couldn’t stop a long-distance strike from Crewe to make it 3-1. Half time 3-1

The Second half saw Caolan O’Hagan introduced to make his first appearance for the team.

It wasn’t long before Northend were on the attack and scoring more goals. On the counterattack Finn Hudson Chipped in to make it 4-1.

Crewe to their credit never gave up and again fought back to make it 4-2. In the dying minutes Dylan McGarry rifled a shot from distance into the roof of the net. Crewe responded with one at the other end. Final score 5-3

Northend United 6 Andersonstown Community Hawkes 0 Saturday 21st September 2024

This week the squad got a Saturday morning game v ACFC Hawks in Lisburn. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Cillian, Dylan and Joseph battling hard and creating chances for Odhran and Alfie upfront. The back four of Philip, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. Some great worked goals ended the half with a comfortable score.

The second half saw the introduction of Aris and Adrian to the attack. The attacking football would continue with more goals. Full time 6-0

Northend United 4 Oxford Sunnyside Colts 1 Saturday 14th September 2024

This week the squad got a Saturday morning game v Oxford Sunnyside Colts in Lisburn. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Keane, Dylan and Joseph battling hard and creating chances for Odhran and Alfie upfront. The back four of Iona, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. The team took the lead after a corner from Finn caused havoc in the box and it was Charlie who was quickest to react and finish.

Half time 1 -0

The second half saw the introduction of Aris and Adrian to the attack. The second goal would soon arrive after a glancing header from Dylan nestled in the corner. To their credit Oxford Sunnyside Colts continued to play and got one back but a third would soon follow from Captain for the Day Finn. The game finished with a fourth after a close-range finish from the outstanding Iona. Full time 4-1

Northend United 5 Dunmurray Youth 1 Saturday 31st August 2024

First week back looking forward to a new challenge at 11aside. This week the squad got a Saturday morning game against Dunmurry at Colin Valley, on a reduced sized pitch to make the transition easier. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Keane, Shane and Joseph battling hard and creating chances for Odhran and Alfie upfront. The back four of Iona, Dylan, Philip and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. The team took the lead after good work from Odhran turning in the box to finish but right before half time Dunmurry would equalise to finish the half level. Half time 1-1

The second half continued as the first with the team creating chances but now with the introduction of Aris just before half time, this offered a different threat as he finished off two great passing moves at the back post. Further goals from Alfie and Dylan would finish off the game. Full time 5-1
